Bhubaneswar: Welcoming the first Union Budget post-COVID, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said allocation for health, especially vaccination to fight coronavirus is a big step.
Reacting to Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the Chief Minister expressed happiness over the Centre’s focus on Mission Shakti in the Union Budget.
He said “After Odisha’s Mamata scheme was adopted by Union Government from 2011-2012, replication of our states flagship women empowerment initiative Mission Shakti clearly shows that Odisha sets benchmark for the nation.”
With this move of the Centre, Naveen hoped and reiterated that the Union Government will give a thought to women empowerment by way of reservation for them in Lok Sabha and the State Assemblies. “We will continue to fight for this,” he added.
