Bhubaneswar: As many as 185 Junior Data Entry Operators, recruited by Odisha Staff Selection Commission, joined the Home Department on Friday.
Addressing an orientation programme for Junior DEOs, on virtual platform, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said role of data is critical to effectiveness of governance. Data creation, storing, protection and transfer are essential for swift implementation of decisions and delivery of services, he added.
Technology & time are two significant aspects of the 5T Initiative, said Naveen to the new recruits. Most of them have higher qualification in IT and wide experience in other sectors.
Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra said they are the first to join the new cadre of Data Entry Operators.
Minister of State for Home Dibya Sankar Mishra and Secretary to CM (5-T) VK Pandian also attended along with Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Sanjeev Chopra.
