Cuttack: The preliminary budget of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) for financial year 2023-2024 was tabled for suggestion and objection at the 9th General Council meeting held at Biju Bhawan in the city on Thursday.
According to sources, Cuttack mayor Subash Singh and CMC commissioner Nikhil Pavan Kalyan proposed a budget amounting to Rs 586.33 crore in the council meeting. This year’s budget is Rs 100 crore more than the previous year’s Rs 489 crore.
Major allocations in the budget have been made for health, development of slums, drainage, sanitation, street lights and beautification of the city.
After taking some other sectors into consideration, the budget will be finalised on March 9 and then sent to the state government for approval, the sources said.
