Bhubaneswar: The cold wave condition will continue for the next 24 hours in 16 districts of Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned.
The IMD said there will be no large change in the night temperature and it will remain below normal by 3 to 5°C at many places in the state. However, the temperature will subsequently rise by 3 to 4°C in the next two days, it added.
Meanwhile, the mercury plunged below 10°C in eight districts — Kandhamal, Phulbani, Keonjhar, Koraput, Boudh, Jharsuguda, Bhawanipatna and Balangir.
G Udaygiri recorded the lowest night temperature of 3.5°C in Odisha, followed by Phulbani (5), Keonjhar (9), Koraput (9), Boudh (9), Jharsuguda (9.2), Bhawanipatna (9.2) and Balangir (9.4).
As for the twin cities, the minimum temperature was 12°C in Cuttack and 13.3°C in Bhubaneswar, the Regional Met office said.
