Bhadrak: Putting himself on action mode, Collector of Odisha’s Bhadrak Dilip Routrai made a surprise visit to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) late in the night for an inspection at the medical facility.
Sources said that the Collector visited the hospital late on Monday after getting a phone call from the relative of a patient. He spoke to the patients and their attendants and enquired about problems faced by them.
During his visit, it came to light that no doctor was present on the Paediatric department of the hospital where a minor had come after being bitten by a snake. Another child was found to be in severe distress at the hospital.
The Collector spoke to the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) and got several issues sorted out.
Routrai also asked the CDMO to issue show cause notice to the doctors found absent.
