Bhubaneswar: With Dussehra approaching closer Commisionerate Police on Saturday issued guidelines after a meeting with puja committee in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
Commissionerate Police announced a complete ban on DJs and bursting of crackers during immersion procession. Besides, restriction has been imposed on sound boxes used at puja pandals and music after 10 pm.
The Commissionerate Police appealed to all the puja committees to ensure peace and harmony during the celebrations.
The police insisted that immersion celebrations could be on only till 10 pm unless extended to midnight after the orders of the Odisha government. There will be zero tolerance for extortion or ‘chanda’ collections during Dussehra this year, a senior police official said
