Odisha Cong Forms 7-Member Committee To Probe Disturbance At JSW Project Site

Bhubaneswar: The Congress party on Monday constituted a fact finding committee to inquire into disturbances at the JSW’s proposed steel project site in Dhinkia village of Jagatsinghpur district.

The committee, headed by veteran Congress leader Narasingha Mishra, has 7 members including the chairman. The other members of the committee are Chiranjib Biswal, who is the convener, Rama Chandra Khuntia, Natabar Barik, Arindam Sarkhel, Anshuman Mohanty and Lalatendu Mohapatra.

OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik has requested the committee members to visit the spot to inquire into alleged lathicharge by police on villagers protesting against the project, forcible evacuation of people from villages, arrest of villagers including women and damage to betel vines.

The committee has also been told to hold a press meet in the locality and submit its suggestions after the visit.
