Balangir: Senior Odisha Congress leader Narasingha Mishra has lodged a complaint against the Republic TV founder and editor Arnab Goswami for deliberately making inflammatory statements and using derogatory language against Sonia Gandhi in his show.
Briefing the media after lodging the complaint in the Town Police Station here on Wednesday night, Mishra said that Arnab had made objectionable and insulting statements against Sonia Gandhi in connection with the lynching of two sadhus and their driver by a group of men on the night of April 16.
“I have demanded a thorough probe into the incident and arrest of Arnab,” he added.
The incident had taken place when the two sadhus Chikne Maharaj Kalpavrukshagiri (70) and Sushilgiri Maharaj (35) belonging to the Juna Akhara, and their driver Nilesh Telgade (30) were on the way to attend the funeral of their Guru Shri Mahant Ramgiri in Surat. As they were passing through the Gadchinchale village in Palghar district of Maharashtra, a group of men from the village stopped their car at local checkpoints, accused them of being child kidnappers, and attacked them with sticks and axes.
