Bhubaneswar: Odisha unit of Congress has decided to stage protest across the state in protest against the summon of Enforcement Directorate (ED) to its national president Sonia Gandhi.
President of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC), in a release, said the party workers would gherao ED office on July 21 and stage mass agitation in all district headquarters on July 22 in protest against ED summon to Sonia Gandhi.
The ED has summoned Gandhi to appear before it on July 21 for questioning in the National Herald newspaper-linked money laundering case.
The Congress has alleged that the ruling BJP is misusing agencies to harass the Congress leadership and opposition party leaders in this country.
It may be noted that Gandhi was issued a summon to appear before it on June 23, but the 75-year-old leader could not turn up due to post-COVID recovery. Her son and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi was questioned by the agency in the case for over 50 hours in separate sessions spread over five days.
