Bhubaneswar: Manmath Routray, son of veteran Congress leader and Odisha MLA Suresh Routray, is all set to take a plunge into politics after quitting his job as a pilot.
According to sources, Manmath has already resigned from his job as a pilot with Air India and will take necessary steps to join the political arena.
Manmath told a private news channel that he has been helping his father in politics and constituency management for the last few years and gradually people of Jatni have started accepting him. His father is now MLA from Jatni Assembly constituency.
However, he did not reveal which party he would join, saying that he has resigned but his organisation needs to first accept it. He made it clear he would follow his father’s footsteps and focus on Jatni.
It may be recalled here that Suresh Routray had four months ago announced his younger son Manmath’s plan to join politics. He had said in February that Manmath will now make an entry into politics and contest the elections from Jatani Assembly constituency.
