Odisha Congress To Support Bharat Bandh Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Congress unit has extended its support to the Bharat Bandh called by Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Friday (March 26).

Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee President (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik on Thursday said that all district presidents of the party have been directed to support the bandh call and make it successful. “Congress workers will support the bandh across the state tomorrow,” he said.

He also slammed the central government for paying no attention to the ‘just’ demands of the agitating farmers.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), a front of protesting farmer unions, has called the bandh to demand the repeal of the new farm laws and a legal guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP) for their crops.

The agitation on the borders of the national capital against the three farm laws will complete four months on this day.

The functioning of all road and rail transport, markets and other public places will be affected for 12 hours (from 6 am to 6 pm) during the bandh.
