Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department here has issued thunderstorm/lightning warning for several districts of Odisha till 8.30 am on April 17.
The state is also likely to experience light to moderate rain during this period.

The Met Office further said that the mercury is likely to soar above 40 degree Celsius and remain 3 to 4 degrees above normal at many places in Interior Odisha during the next 3 days.
Notably, Baripada was the hottest in the state at 42.6 degree Celsius on April 11. Four more places – Balagir, Jharsuguda, Sonepur and Boudh – recorded 42 degree Celsius and above temperature. In total, the mercury remained above 40 degree Celsius at 12 places in Odisha.
