Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance, on Monday, apprehended Padmalochan Sahoo, Secretary of Sanahulla Cooperative Society at Athamallik in Angul district for taking a bribe of Rs 40,000 from a complaint.
Sahoo had allegedly demanded the bribe money from a paddy farmer to initiate token for purchase of paddy. The entire bribe money has been recovered from Sahoo.
Following the trap, the residential building of Sahoo at Mahulanali village under Sanahulla block Thakurgarh police limits in Angul district is being searched under disproportionate assets angle.
Cuttack Vigilance has filed a case and investigation is in progress. Details are awaited.
