Puri: Balanga police station ASI Chittaranjan Das was arrested on Friday for allegedly raping a married woman.
The woman had lodged a complaint in this regard with Pipili SDPO the previous evening.
According to the complainant, she had visited to the police station three months back to report a family dispute. The ASI had then assured her that he would resolve the dispute. On Thursday, he asked her to come to his quarters and assaulted her sexually, she added.
The woman further alleged that the ASI had threatened to implicate her in a false case, if I disclosed the incident to anyone.
However, the woman on Friday reportedly refused to undergo medical examination.
The ASI, on the other hand, refuted the allegation.
