Berhampur: Bhejiput Police Outpost ASI Manas Rout was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday while allegedly accepting Rs 3,000 bribe near a betel shop to help a person with regards to a case registered in Khalikote police station.
The entire bribe money was recovered and seized from the possession of the accused cop.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches were conducted at the office and rented house of Rout to track his disproportionate assets.
Berhampur Vigilance has also registered a case in this regard.
