Cuttack: The regional transport officer (RTO), Cuttack, slapped a fine of Rs 16,000 on a police officer for a dangerous bike stunt in blatant disregard for traffic rules.
In the video, which went viral on social media, the cop can be seen riding a Royal Enfield Bullet with his wife seated precariously on the fuel tank. Neither of them wore helmets. They were reportedly recording a reel while navigating a busy road, endangering lives with reckless driving.
After an X user flagged the incident, Cuttack Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde initiated a probe and directed RTO Cuttack to issue appropriate ‘challan’ against the violators.
The challan has been issued in the name of Mohan Sahoo of Dhaipur in Cuttack district.
