Odisha Cop Rides On Wrong Side Of Law, Fined Rs 1,000

Balangir: A police sub-inspector, Abhinash Nayak. was slapped a fine of Rs 1,000 after a video of his riding a two-wheeler without wearing helmet went viral on Tuesday.

Balangir SP Sandeep Madkar had directed the cops to collect a fine of Rs 1,000 from Nayak.

After six-month breather, Odisha saw strict enforcement of the new Motor Vehicle Act 2019 from March 1. The State Transport Authority had issued e-Challans to the tune of Rs 1.64 crore against 3,175 traffic violators across the state on the first two days.
