Khurda: Khurda SP Ajay Swain on Friday sent sub-inspector Banamali Nayak posted at the district police headquarters on compulsory retirement.
The SP in a statement said Nayak had lost his credibility as a police officer, and therefore, a decision was taken to send him on compulsory retirement at the departmental review meeting.
Notably, Nayak was arrested twice by the Vigilance on bribery charges during his stint in Khurda and Puri district.
