Jharsuguda: Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Jharsuguda’s Banharpali police station Parakshit Sahu was suspended on Sunday for allegedly demanding bribe from a person to release his seized truck.
According to sources, the ASI had demanded bribe from a truck driver despite the fact that the court had ordered for release of the vehicle.
Jharsugusa SP Ashwini Mohanty suspended Sahu after a video showing him making the demand went viral on social media.
“Though it is not clear that whether Sahu had received the bribe amount or not, it is confirmed that he had demanded gratification,” said Mohanty.
Investigation into the matter is on.
