Bhubaneswar: A policeman of the Special Security Battalion (SSB) was thrashed in public at Kalpana Square on Sunday for eve teasing.
According to reports, the woman was on her way back home near Kalpana Square when the SSB constable of Golanthara area in Ganjam district, finding her alone on the street tried to outrage her modesty. As the woman shouted for help, some locals rushed to the spot and overpowered the jawan. Later, the woman thrashed him with her shoes in public. Some other women passing by joined her in thrashing him.
Following information, a team from Capital Police Station rushed to the spot and rescued the constable. His interrogation is underway.
