Jagatsinghpur: A policeman of Marine police station at Jatadhari in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district was suspended on Monday for thrashing a minor boy. The child’s fault was he was not wearing the mandatory face mask.
According to sources, Bidyadhar Parida, a havildar posted at the Marine PS was on COVID duty on Sunday when he caught a minor boy moving without a mask and beat him up severely.
The critically injured minor boy was later rushed to district headquarters hospital.
Following a report of the incident in the media, the district SP R Prakash suspended the havildar.
