Bhubaneswar: The number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha’s Jajpur district went up to 36 with 14 more people testing positive for the virus on Thursday afternoon, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.
All these cases are linked to West Bengal.
I&PR Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh said that there was no need to panic as all the 14 cases were from a single containment zone.
Three positive cases were detected in the district the previous day.
With this, Jajpur is now only second to Khurda in terms of the number of COVID cases. The Khurda district has so far reported 47 corona cases.
With these new cases, the corona positive cases in Odisha now stand at 142, which includes 39 recoveries and one death.
