Bargarh: Vigilance sleuths have caught an assistant fire officer (AFO) red-handed while taking bribe in Bargarh district.
The accused has been identified as Prasanta Kumar Mohapatra.
According to a release, one Hrushikesh Pradhan, the owner of a petrol pump at Kadalipali village near Bheden, complained to Vigilance Division officials that Mohapatra was demanding Rs 12,000 in bribe for issuing a fire-safety certificate.
Following the complaint, Vigilance officers laid a trap and nabbed the AFO accepting the bribe on Thursday.
