Bhubaneswar: The total number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha touched 11956 on Friday as the state reported the highest single-day spike of 755 cases from 23 districts in the last 24 hours.
Of the new cases, 508 have been detected in quarantine centres while 247 are local contact cases.
According to I & PR department, Ganjam district reported the highest of 320 cases followed by Jajpur (86), Sundargarh (62), Khurda (59), Cuttack (55), Keonjhar (32), Gajapati (30), Malkangiri (18), Nayagarh (16), 12 each in Balangir, and Mayurbhanj, Puri (11), Balasore (9), five each in Koraput, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur, four each in Deogarh and Dhenkanal, Angul (3), two each in Bhadrak, Kandhamal and Sambalpur, and Bargarh (1).
With 52 deaths and 7404 recoveries, Odisha now has 4476 active cases.
