Bhubaneswar: The total number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha touched 16701 on Saturday as the state reported 591 new cases from 25 districts in the last 24 hours.
Of the new cases, 394 have been detected from quarantine centres while 197 are local contact cases.
According to I & PR department, Ganjam district reported the highest 182 followed by Khurda (121), Cuttack (38), Bargarh (35), 22 each from Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj and Nabarangpur, Sambalpur (20), Jajpur (19), Sundargarh (18), Balasore (13), Nayagarh (11), nine each from Dhenkanal and Balangir, eight each from Kendrapada and Malkangiri, six each from Keonjhar and Puri, five each from Jharsuguda and Boudh, Koraput (4), three each from Bhadrak and Deogarh and one each from Angul and Rayagada.
With 86 deaths and 11330 recoveries, Odisha now has 5259 active cases.
