Bhubaneswar: The COVID caseload remained below 300 for the second consecutive day on Tuesday as 296 more people, including 58 in the age group of 0-18 years, tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had seen 276 new cases on Monday and 318 on Sunday.
According to the I & PR department, 174 of the new infections are from quarantine and 122 local contacts. Khurda reported the highest 152 cases followed by 23 each in Sundargarh and Cuttack. Nine districts saw nil cases.

Besides, 36 are from the state pool.
With these cases being detected from 53,394 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.55 per cent. The TPR was 0.46 per cent on Monday and 0.50 per cent on Sunday.
