Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in Odisha jumped to 21,099 on Thursday with the highest single-day spike of 1264 cases reported in the last 24 hours.
Out of the 1,264 new cases reported from 27 districts, 847 were from quarantine centres and 417 were local contact cases.
Ganjam led the tally with the highest single-day rise of 540 cases, followed by Khurda (137), Rayagada (84), Gajapati (74), Nayagarh (61), Sundargarh (60), Cuttack (47), Bhadrak (30), Kandhamal (29), Koraput (27), Keonjhar (25), Bargarh (24), Puri (22), Sambalpur (20), Jajpur (17), Mayurbhanj (15), Balasore (9), Kendrapada (8), seven each in Kalahandi and Angul, Dhenkanal (6), four each in Jagatsinghpur and Nabarangpur, Jharsuguda (3), Boudh(2), and one each in Balangir and Nupada.
Of the 21,099 positive cases reported in the state so far, 7205 are active ones while 13,749 patients have recovered.
