Bhubaneswar: Odisha saw another 8735 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, which pushed the active cases tally to 89956 on Tuesday.
It is for the second day in a row that the state has reported over 8,000 new cases.
According to the I & PR department, 4892 are quarantine and 3843 local contact cases.
Khurda district reported the highest of 1222 fresh infections, followed by Cuttack (673) and Balasore (566), Jajpur (507) and Dhenkanal (503).

These cases were detected from 62,293 samples sent for tests. With this, the daily positivity rate in the state bounced back to 14 per cent.
