Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Thursday saw a slight decline in new COVID caseload as 22 more people tested positive for COVID in the last 24 hours against 26 on Wednesday, and 37 on Tuesday.
According to the I & PR department, 13 of these new cases are from quarantine and nine local contacts. Only one among them belongs to the 0-18 years age group.
Here is the district-wise tally of new cases:
1. Balasore: 1
2. Cuttack: 4
3. Deogarh: 2
4. Jajpur: 2
5. Jharsuguda: 1
6. Kendrapada: 1
7. Khurda: 3
8. Sambalpur: 1
9. Sonepur: 1
10. Sundargarh: 5
With these cases being detected from 8,735 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.25%. With 33 more recoveries in the last 24 hours, Odisha now has 233 active cases.
It is pertinent to mention here that three districts – Dhenkanal, Rayagada, and Malkangiri – remained COVID-free with nil active cases, as per the state COVID dashboard.
