Bhubaneswar: The active tally went past 6,000 on Tuesday as Odisha saw a slight rise in daily COVID caseload with 945 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had reported 816 cases on Monday and 872 on Sunday after the number surged past 1000 for two days.
According to the I & PR department, 553 of the fresh infections are from quarantine and 392 local contacts. Among them, 110 are in the age group of 0-18. Khurda reported the highest of 371 cases followed by Sundargarh (103) and Cuttack (75).

With these cases being detected from 17,906 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 5.27%. Odisha now has 6,316 active cases with 2,181 alone from Khurda.
