Odisha COVID Update: Almost 55% Of New Cases From 3 Districts; TPR Rises To 14.48%

Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported over 10,000 new COVID-19 cases for the third consecutive case on Saturday with 10856 people, including 1021 in the 0-18 age group, testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

The daily caseload had surged to 10,059 on Thursday and registered a slight rise of 10,273 the following day.

According to the I & PR Department, 6,293 of the new infections are from quarantine and 45,631 local contacts. The highest of 3,087 have been reported from Khurda followed by 1,943 from Sundargarh and 909 from Cuttack.

With these cases being detected from 74,936 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 14.48 per cent against 13.56 per cent on Friday and 12.40 per cent on Thursday.

Odisha now has 61,809 active cases.
