Bhubaneswar: Odisha saw a decline in the daily COVID caseload on Saturday as 681 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours with 17 per cent (118) in the age group of 0 to 18 years.
The state had seen 849 new cases, including 120 in the age group of 0-18 years, the previous day and 719 and 754 new infections on September 1 and September 2 respectively.
According to the I&PR department, 398 are from quarantine and 283 local contacts. Khurda reported the highest of 222 new COVID cases followed by 101 from Cuttack, 34 from Balasore and 33 from Jajpur district. Nuapada, Balangit, Gajapati and Kandhamal reported nil cases.
With these cases being detected from 67,229 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 1.01 per cent.
