Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Wednesday saw a further rise in the daily caseload with 26 more persons testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours against 11 on Tuesday and six on Monday.
According to the I & PR department, 16 of the new cases are from quarantine while 10 are local contacts. Two among those infected are in the age group of 0-18 years.
Here is the district-wise tally of new cases:
1. Bargarh: 2
2. Cuttack: 12
3. Jagatsinghpur: 2
4. Jharsuguda: 1
5. Khurda: 2
6. Nayagarh: 1
7. Puri: 1
8. Sundargarh: 5
With these cases detected from 6,265 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.42 per cent. With 31 more recoveries in the last 24 hours, Odisha now has 132 active cases.
It is pertinent to mention here that seven districts – Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, and Malkangiri – are COVID-free with nil active cases, as per the state COVID dashboard.
