Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s daily COVID-19 cases crossed the 400 mark while active cases crossed the 2,000 mark on Thursday. The state reported 428 cases in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stood at 2,235.
Cases were reported from 23 districts in the last 24 hours. Among the 428 cases, 56 are in the 0-18 age group. While 251 cases are from quarantine, 177 cases are from local contacts.

Besides, 43 cases are from the state pool.
With 17,522 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the TPR stood at 2.44%.
Meanwhile, students of Madhusudan Law University have demanded change of exam centre or online exam after three staff tested positive for COVID.
State Public Health Director Dr Niranjan Mishra on Wednesday said that the COVID situation in Odisha is likely to aggravate during the next 20 to 25 days. While the severity of cases will be low, the numbers might increase, he added.
At present, only about 1% patients have been hospitalised, he said.
He advised that children showing symptoms should not attend school.
