Bhubaneswar: The second schedule of Director SS Rajamouli’s much-anticipated film, ‘SSMB29’, is underway in Odisha.
The film, which is yet to be officially announced, is being headlined by Mahesh Babu, and the team has been making every efforts keep details about this jungle adventure project under wraps despite numerous leaks purportedly from Hyderabad airport to Talamali in Koraput, where a huge set has been put up for the shoot.
A three-tier security arrangement has been put in place to keep the crowd at bay.
The excitement over the magnum opus intensified as global icon Priyanka Chopra touched down in Odisha on March 10 and shared glimpses of the scenic beauty and bustling local markets while driving through Koraput in an Instagram story.

While Mahesh Babu is the only confirmed cast member of ‘SSMB29’, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida ‘accidentally’ confirmed inclusion of Prithviraj Sukumaran and Priyanka Chopra in a social media post, while inviting filmmakers to the state to explore Odisha’s potential.
She shared that after Pushpa 2, which was filmed in Malkangiri, the upcoming Rajamouli film is now being shot in Koraput. “Before, Pushpa-2 in Malkangiri, and now, renowned director SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film SSMB29, starring South superstars Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, along with internationally acclaimed actress Priyanka Chopra, is being shot in Koraput, proving that Odisha has a wealth of cinematic landscapes for film shooting. This will give a major boost to Odisha Tourism, making it a prime shooting destination. We welcome all film industries to explore Odisha’s potential and promise full support and world-class infrastructure (sic),” her post on X read.
The action-packed jungle adventure film, which is already touted to be the next global blockbuster, is being made under the Durga Art banner on a staggering budget of Rs 1000 crore.

The district administration has granted the unit permission for filming until March 28. The major shooting locations include scenic spots like Deomali, Talamali, and Machkund, with the first schedule primarily focused on Talamali, according to sources.
