Odisha Deputy Speaker’s Signature Forged For Transfer! Police Action Sought Against 2



Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, the signature of the Deputy Speaker of Odisha Assembly was allegedly forged by two government engineers and used to secure transfer.

Sources said the office of the Deputy Speaker has sought registration of an FIR by the police against two Assistant Engineers (AEs) for allegedly forging the signature of the Deputy Speaker and using fabricated official documents to secure transfers.

A complaint in this regard has been lodged with at Capital Police Station by Niranjan Kumar Sha, Private Secretary to the


Deputy Speaker seeking appropriate action.

According to a complaint, the accused officials allegedly created and used forged documents bearing the purported signature of the Deputy Speaker and the official D.O. pad of his office.

The complaint alleged that the forged documents were submitted before the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department in an attempt to obtain transfers to Bargaon Block and Sadar Block in Sundargarh district.

The Deputy Speaker’s office made it clear that the documents in question were neither issued nor authorised by the office and described the matter as a serious breach involving forgery of official records and misuse of public office.

The complaint further alleged offences including fabrication and reproduction of forged documents, use of forged documents as genuine, cheating, impersonation, criminal conspiracy, unauthorized use of official stationery, violation of provisions of the Information Technology Act, and misconduct by government servants.

Seeking immediate police intervention, the Deputy Speaker’s office requested registration of an FIR and appropriate legal action against the accused officials in accordance with the law.
