Bhubaneswar: Odisha DGP Abhay urged the people to avoid visiting Puri on Tuesday since the curfew was still in force in parts of the Pilgrim Town.
The top cop further informed that no devotees will be allowed darshan of the sibling deities.
This followed his tweet about modification in curfew order and lifting of restriction for travel to Puri on July 24, the previous day. The DGP had, however, said that some restrictions are still in place in Puri town.
The Pahandi of the three deities, who are still atop the three chariots, will be held this morning before entering the Gundicha Temple for their annual sojourn. Puri saw the chariots being pulled on Grand Road without the myriad hues of frenzied devotion and the feverish chants, music and dance on Tuesday as the mega festival was held with strict adherence to COVID-19 management guidelines.
