Bhubaneswar/Balangir: Odisha DGP Abhay on Wednesday visited Balangir, Kalahandi and Nuapada districts to review COVID enforcement measures and police preparedness to ramp up assistance to tackle the situation.
He reviewed implementation of night curfew, weekend shutdown, functioning of border check post besides the law and order situation.
During his visit to Balangir district, the DGP inquired about the steps taken for strict enforcement of COVID-19 guidelines. The DGP said police are effectively the orders on night curfew and weekend shutdown with the cooperation of people.
He held discussions with district SP and other senior police officials and visited the Town and Sadar police stations and interacted with police personnel.
At Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district, Abhay visited the Town PS and later held discussions with senior officials including the DIG SIW, DIG SWR and SP Kalahandi.
The DGP also felicitated officers in recognition of their good work in maintaining law and order and good investigation.
Abhay requested people to follow the COVID-19 protocol of wearing mask, washing hands, sanitisation and maintaining social distance.
