Odisha DGP Reviews Security For Brajrajnagar By-Poll

Cuttack: With less than a week to go for the by-election to Brajrajnagar Assembly constituency, Odisha DGP Sunil Bansal reviewed security arrangements for the by-poll along with Director Intelligence, ADG Law and Order and Jharsuguda SP through video-conferencing on Thursday.

The DGP stressed on free and fair elections and directed officials to make necessary arrangements. At least 12 platoon police force, 25 mobile patrolling parties and six flying squads will be deployed to ensure smooth conduct of the by-election.

The DGP also laid thrust on other factors like strict enforcement of model code of conduct and adherence to ECI guidelines. Adequate police arrangements will be made for security purposes, including visits of VIPs and VVIPs.

The by-elections are scheduled on May 31.
