Odisha DGP Suspends Two Police Officers For Accepting Rs 30K Bribe From Builder

Cuttack: Two police officers in Odisha’s Sambalpur district have been suspended for allegedly accepting Rs 30,000 bribe from a builder.

Former inspector-in-charge (IIC) Ranjan Biswal and sub-inspector (SI) Abhishek Pradhan of Town Police Station were placed under suspension on Tuesday following orders of Odisha DGP Y B Khurania.

They will report to the Northern IGP during the suspension period.

The duo was under scanner since the arrest of a district sub-registrar and four others, including land brokers, for their alleged involvement in a major fraud using forgery and impersonation to illegally acquire a dead person’s land. Biswal was then transferred from Khetrajpur police station to Sambalpur Police Headquarters.
