Odisha DGP Thanks State Govt, Centre For Enlisting Police As Frontline COVID Warriors For Vaccination

Cuttack: Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay on Saturday thanked the Odisha government and the Centre for acknowledging the policemen as the frontline COVID workers and giving them the opportunity for vaccination.

Speaking to the media persons after taking the COVID-19 vaccine at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in the city, the DGP said as the COVID vaccination is a major initiative of the state government, the people should voluntarily come forward to support the programme to make it a grand success.

“On behalf of the Odisha Police, I assure that all policemen will be administered the vaccine very soon,” the DGP said. He also thanked the policemen for playing a major role during the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

“As the Central government has recommended the COVID vaccines after a series of trials, the people need not get panicked about their reaction. As the vaccines have negligible reactions, we should not ignore it and keep ourselves safe from the killer virus. I request all of you to come forward and take the vaccine,” the DGP said.
