Odisha Doctor Beaten To Death By Elder Brother Over Land Dispute; 4 Detained



Kendrapada: In a shocking case of familial violence, a homeopathic doctor was allegedly beaten to death by his elder brother and other relatives over a long-standing property dispute at Baradang village under Mahakalapada police station limits in Odisha’s Kendrapada district.

The deceased has been identified as Golak Chandra Nauri, a practicing homeopath. He rans clinics at Parad

ip and Mahakalapada.

According to sources, the incident took place late on Thursday following an argument between Nauri and his elder brother Abhay over the land issue. The quarrel escalated rapidly as other family members joined in, launching a brutal group assault on the victim. They continued to beat Golak even after he lost consciousness, leaving him critically injured.

Family members rushed him to Mahakalapada Community Health Centre and then to Kendrapada district headquarters hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police have detained four individuals, including the prime accused Abhay Nauri, in connection with the murder. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the full sequence of events and gather evidence.
