Balangir: Senior doctor and former sub-divisional medical officer (SDMO) of Patnagarh hospital Bachaspati Dash has been dismissed from service for gross dereliction of duty.
This was intimated by the Chief District Medical and Public Health Officer (CDM&PHO), Balangir in a letter on June 8.
The letter stated that Dash has been dismissed from the service for gross dereliction of duty during his tenure at the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Gop in Puri district.
It may be mentioned here that Dash, during his stint as the SDMO of Patnagarh hospital, had demanded a bribe from a patient and a video clip of the incident had gone viral on social media.
Following the incident, he was transferred to the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital, Balangir.
