Khurda: A team of the Special task Force arrested a drugs dealer and seized 170 kg ganja from his possession near PN High School under Jatni police limits on Wednesday.
On a tip-off about illegal transportation and possession of Narcotic Drugs, , the STF team raided Nuagoan Regedi Basti at Bikasnagar and arrested Mahendra Behera alias Bapi.
The team also seized a Maruti Swift Dezire car and other incriminating materials from his possession. He will be forwarded to the court, stated a release by STF.
Bapi was earlier booked in a murder case in which he was in judicial custody for more than 4 years.
It may be mentioned that the STF, in its special drive against narcotic drugs since 2020, has seized more than 47 kg of brown sugar or heroin and more than 89 quintals of ganja or marijuna. A of 121 drug dealers and peddlers have been arrested during the period.
