Bhubaneswar: BJP’s Mahila Morcha leader Harapriya Sahu along with her supporters joined the BJD in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Sahu, who is Bhadrak district leader of Mahila Morcha, came with hundreds of her supporters and BJP workers to BJD headquarters Sankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.
She was formally inducted into BJD by the party MP and national spokesperson Sasmit Patra and Kandhamal district poll observer Bijay Nayak in presence of other leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, Patra said the BJD’s organisation in Bhadrak district would be further strengthened with induction of Sahu into the party.
Expressing her gratitude to BJD president Naveen Patnaik, Sahu said she decided to join the ruling party due to people-friendly policies and far-sighted vision of the chief minister. She said she would carry out the responsibilities assigned to her by the party leadership.
It may be noted that Bhadrak is among the 6 Lok Sabha constituencies, where voting will be held during the last-phase elections in Odisha on June 1.
