Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s chief electoral officer (CEO) has appealed to the voters not to share their Aadhaar details and mobile phone number with any political party or candidate.
In a press release on Tuesday, the CEO, Nikunja Bihari Dhal, said it had come to his notice that many contesting candidates and political parties are collecting photocopies and personal mobile numbers of the voters which is antithetical to the process of a free, fair and impartial election process.
He appealed to all political parties and candidates to refrain from the collection of such data. He also requested the
voters not to share their Aadhaar details and mobile number with any political party and candidate.
Visit To Rourkela
The CEO also visited Rourkela to review poll preparedness there. He took stock of the law and order situation, communication plan, election expenditure monitoring, SVEEP and other poll related preparations for ensuring a free, fair, inclusive and inducement-free election.
During this visit, Dhal directed the District Election Officer and Sundargarh collector Gavali Prasad Harshad and all enforcement agencies to be more vigilant about the expenditure sensitive Rourkela constituency
