Odisha Elections 2024: ‘Betrayed’ Former Satyabadi MLA Ramaranjan Baliarsingh Quits BJP

Bhubaneswar: In a jolt to BJP amid the ongoing polls, former Satyabadi MLA Ramaranjan Baliarsingh resigned from the primary membership of the party on Thursday.

In his resignation letter to BJP state president Manmohan Samal, Baliarsingh mentioned that the party betrayed him and the people of Satyabadi during elections over the last few years.

Baliarsingh had won the 2014 elections from Satyabadi Assembly constituency as an independent. He later joined the BJD but switched sides to BJP in 2018. He also served as a spokesperson of the saffron party. He was a ticket aspirant but the party decided to repeat its 2019 candidate, Om Prakash Mishra, from Satyabadi.
