Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik conducted another roadshow in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday evening to garner support for party candidates for the twin elections.
This was Naveen’s third roadshow in Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha constituency where polling is scheduled to be held in third-round of elections in Odisha on May 25. The voters of the Assembly segments under the Parliamentary constituency will also exercise their franchise on the same day.
Naveen, who started the roadshow from Rental Square in the city, waved at the cheering crowd on both sides of the road. It culminated at Patia Square as the CM moved in a customised bus.
Making short speeches at a few locations, the Chief Minister highlighted BJD’s poll promises of providing free electricity and BSKY health cards to all.
The CM moved in his specially-built vehicle during the roadshow which passed through Petrol Pump Square, Saliasahi, Mayfair, Biju Pattnaik Square, Xavier Square, BDA Sai Temple, Chandrasekharpur Petrol Pump and Damana Max Showroom before reaching Patia Square.
The Commissionerate of Police had issued a traffic advisory to ensure better regulation and free flow of traffic during the roadshow.
Naveen had conducted his first roadshow in the capital city on May 16 and the second one on May 20 as part of the BJD’s strategy to woo urban voters of Bhubaneswar.
