Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik will take out a roadshow in support of the party candidates in Bhubaneswar on May 16.
According to BJD sources, Naveen’s roadshow will be held from Ganga Nagar square to Rupali square in the city. It will pass through the LIC Office, Gopabandhu square, DAV School Unit VIII, Nuasahi, Behera Sahi, Nicco Park and Baya Baba Matha before reaching Rupali square.
The Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements for smooth conduct of the chief minister’s roadshow, said Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh.
He further said senior police officers will be engaged at different places and security personnel deployed at high-rise buildings on the route to provide security to the VIPs and maintain law and order. Barricades will be erected on both sides of the road to prevent any untoward incident, he added.
It may be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had held a roadshow in Bhubaneswar in support of the party candidates on the evening of May 10.
The BJD has nominated Manmath Routray as its candidate while the Congress has fielded Syed Yashir Nawaz and the BJP renominated present MP Aparajita Sarangi for Bhubaneswar Parliamentary seat in the present elections.
