Balangir: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit Odisha on May 15 to garner support for party candidates for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
During his one-day visit, Rahul is slated to take part in a bike rally and address a public meeting in Balangir, Congress candidate for Balangir Assembly constituency Samarendra Mishra said on Sunday.
The Congress leader is likely to target the BJD government in the state over a host of issues, including growing unemployment and largescale migration of youths to other states in search of jobs.
Balangir happens to be among the districts in the state which are severely hit by largescale migration of unemployed youths.
Notably, Rahul was earlier scheduled to visit the tribal-dominated Rayagada district May 3. However, the Congress leader addressed an election rally on virtual mode as he was unable to visit Rayagada that day because of filing of nomination in Rae Barelli
Rahul had earlier addressed his first public meeting in Salepur assembly constituency in Cuttack district.
